he Road Safety Network (RSN), a coalition of civil societies organized a Road safety Workshop with several stakeholders in Aurangabad on 17th May 2019.
The workshop was facilitated by RSN members, Parisar and Centre for Environment Education (CEE), both Pune based organisations on behalf of the RSN, and focused on highlighting the current scenario on road safety at a National as well as the State level. Participants discussed the local situation and arrived at some important pointers to the main causes of crashes in the city.

There was a discussion on the Motor Vehicles Act and the proposed amendments of the Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill (2016) which was passed earlier in the Lok Sabha but did not get through in the Rajya Sabha and thereby lapsed this year. During the workshop participants also discussed on safe system approaches.
The workshop was attended by representatives of City traffic department, Aurangabad, Public Works Department, civil society organizations, member of District Road Safety Committee, vehicle driving associations and media groups.
