A road safety stakeholders meet was jointly organised by the Parisar and Yuwa Daud Manch organization under the RSN umbrella. A meet was inaugurated by Justice Abhijeet Deshmukh who is the President of District Legal Service Authority and delivered an inaugural speech underlining the need for legal perspective in road safety. The inaugural session was also attended by Ex- Mayor of Nagpur city, DCP traffic Nagpur along with Mr Ranjit Gadgil, Parisar.
It was an wonderful opportunity to share road safety current scenario, Safe System Approach, Haddon matrix, road safety risk factors, speed survey results, on-ground enforcement, RSN challenges and way forward
Around 55 participants attended the meet. Participants comprised Good Samaritans across Nagpur district and other adjoining districts from Vidarbha region, local self government members, community representatives, NGO/CSO members, NHAI/PWD representatives, members from media fraternity, medical practitioners, etc.
A closing ceremony was graced by MP Vikas Mahtme (Chairman of DRSC, Nagpur). He is also Padmashri awarded Indian ophthalmologist & social entrepreneur. Mr. Anil Gole (Ex MLA and member of DRSC) was also there.
At the end, Mr. Ranjit Gadgil shared a brief interview with media people appealing Maharashtra Government to issue compounding notification.
