Speaking to THI, Anil Kumar, Addition CP (Traffic) said, “Several road accidents are caused by the negligence of the drivers while some are caused due to bad roads. Most of the fatalities occur due to over-speeding, rash and negligent driving, drunk driving and minor driving. Various engineering measures clubbed with road safety programs including incentives to obedient drivers and enforcement of traffic rules helped in bring down the accidents.
